Larry, a fifth generation Californian, was born on the Conejo Ranch in Thousand Oaks. He attended the California Institute of the Arts and, in 1967, attended the first of many Ansel Adams’ Summer Photography Workshops. He later assisted Adams on many of his myriad projects over the course of Adams’ life. Larry’s photographs have been featured in galleries throughout Southern California, and in two New West Symphony classical music commissions and performances – one a photographic interpretation of Ferde Grofé’s symphonic masterpiece, the Grand Canyon Suite; and the second, a multimedia presentation with Robert Kyr’s original symphonic piece, Yosemite: Journey of Light, also performed by the New West Symphony.

As a filmmaker, Larry has produced over a dozen documentaries, short and independent films in Chile, Micronesia and most of the Western States. He is the producer of the feature film My Suicide.

Larry also enjoys over thirty-five years of experience working with non-profit organizations. He was one of the original four founding members of the Liberty Hill Foundation, the first social justice foundation in Los Angeles, and has recently assisted in the formation of the Ventura County Social Justice Fund, modeled after Liberty Hill. He has served as a director of the Ventura County Arts Council, the Ventura County Community Foundation, the Alliance for the Arts, the Board of Governors of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, Casa Pacifica, the Population Institute, and was the founding chairman of the Gold Coast Performing Arts Association. Currently, Larry is President of the School of the Pacific Islands Foundation and serves on the Board of the Institute for Policy Studies, a progressive think tank in Washington DC.
