Based in Thousand Oaks, California, Regenerate was formed in 2002 to combat the alarming number of tragic teenage traffic deaths. Regenerate Films – with the support of the Ventura County AIDS Partnership (VCAP) – created a Public Service Announcement (PSA) to raise awareness among Latinos about the rapid spread of HIV/AIDS in their community. The 1-minute PSA is in Spanish and was translated into English and just recently translated to Mixteco.
We continue to collaborate with VCAP and other non-profit and Mixteco organizations working on the distribution of this PSA and other HIV prevention initiatives.

Regenerate Films has partnered with Nobel Peace prize recipient Muhammad Yunus and the Institute for Social Business of California State University Channel Islands to develop a series of media pieces which explore the connection between social business and the eradication of poverty around the world.
We aim to amplify our partners’ voices: integrate the social business model to higher education so our next generations can go “to museums to see what poverty was like.” (Yunus).

Open Borders was a summer-long concert series and art exhibition filling a 40,000 square foot converted, abandoned Borders bookstore in Thousand Oaks, CA. Open Borders benefited the arts, local communities, and teen suicide prevention programs. The festival coincided with the release of Regenerate’s internationally awarded feature “My Suicide“. On July 26th, 2010, My Suicide was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Odessa International Film Festival in Ukraine. David Lee Miller (Writer/Director), Gabriel Sunday (Actor/Editor), and Sarah Miller (Producer) accepted the award in the beautiful Odessa Opera House.
